The Eye of the Storm

The Trouble with Elections

For many in Great Western Land the recent few days of election campaigning have taken their toll. Last year there was the In/Out of Europe vote, a year or so before that there was the last general election. Here we are again at yet another election, tired and worn out by the fake promises made by ever more desperate politicians to gain the vote of the un-trusting public.

The trouble with elections is that they are fake, everyone knows and almost accepts this.

Take for example those electoral promises made during the Euro vote.

The promises that were made and then when the vote went in their favour, the lovely MPs all but disappeared.

Why should things be different this time round?

Polling day is a Great Day

Polling Day is a remarkable thing. The peasants of Great Western Land will all march to their polling station and cast their vote.

That’s not the reason this is a great day though. the real reason is we at last have a day without political rhetoric. A day of peace… until 22:00 when the polling stations close.

The only thing left is a week’s worth of over analysis via media outlets and of course the answer to the ultimate question…

“Will I wake up the morning after the election, discover the result and have the same feeling I did after the Euro Vote?”
