This is not about Brexit

Well not quite

What is Brexit teaching us?

This really isn’t about the ‘B’ word. What it is about though is the effect this is having on both the political system and on us, the general public or as we are known in Westminster “The Great Unwashed”.

What the EU does to a ‘Sovereign State’

The thing about the EU is that the ruling class with in it (France and Germany) are failed and frustrated empires. Though France had some success with it’s colonial empire, Napoleon was forced into reality after several years of war. Likewise Adolf was sent on his way after the Third Reich was brought down. One ca argue that other states of empire existed for these countries however they are too far away historically to be of any relevance.

With this in mind, one can only see how their desire to conquer and rule has managed to bring around a complete reversal of fortune in the shape of the European Union. A place where at last these failed empires can now (albeit jointly) rule the whole of Europe.. and beyond.

When a sovereign state such as the UK joins the EU then the slow and continual eradication of self governance begins. European Law is rolled out across ‘Eurozone’ and implemented after some debate. Of course any great dictatorship would be a proper one without short cuts. To achieve this the EU also roll out ‘Regulations’ which are un-democratically issued to member states.

This natural means that those ‘in power’ in the member states.. those parliamentarians don’ really have to do any strategic thinking when it comes to law making. they simply follow the European lead.

It allegedly leaves the local politicians to control the local economy (in the UK’s case), perhaps a bit of legislation here and thereabout. This is all they have to do.

The Brexit Effect on Decision Making

This is not the only site that has made an observation about the state of UK politics.

For those who have been living in the back of a very deep, dark, long cave…. The UK’s handling of Brexit has been embarrassing, a complete disaster, chaotic, shambolic. A failure to reach any meaningful agreement on any form of departure.

This has simply come about because those in power have not really been in power for decades and cannot make decisions due to lack of practice.

In recent history, Parliament has been holding votes to work out what to vote on.

This is truly pathetic and cannot continue.

Moving On

We have been reminded of some terrible lessons from Brexit, here’s a list:-

  • Politicians lie to get votes (a reminder really, this isn’t new)
  • Politicians will do anything to promote their own agenda (again, nothing new)
  • Politicians will collapse an argument if they think they will loose votes or become even more unpopular
  • Politicians will make policy changes to suit their own ends
  • Politicians can no longer commit to a firm decision and stand by it

In order to guard against this terrible state of affairs to ever come about again, this site is asking for the following : –

  1. A party manifesto which is used to set out policy will be a contract between the elected party and their country
  2. Failure to show progress on any of their policies will automatically trigger an general election
  3. U-Turns, changes in policy will automatically trigger a general election
  4. Financial irregularities (expense fraud etc.) will cause immediate deselection of any candidate or serving MP
  5. Second home benefit to be stopped (the general public have to commute)
  6. Pay linked to pa increase of the general public

It is about time that the political class were held responsible for their action just like the rest of the population.
